Below are a list of FAQs I hope will put your mind at ease. If your question is not covered please don’t hesitate to ask me via my contact page [here]:
Whether photographing individual portraits, families, couples or weddings I would describe my style as natural, relaxed, creative, warm and vibrant but please have a look through my portfolio for a sampling of images or my blog to view full weddings and sessions to see whether my style is up your alley 🙂
Rest assured, I’m really easy going so there’s absolutely no pressure and l generally give a little direction to get you started ie where to stand for the most flattering light, where to put your hands then all you have to do is be yourselves and interact with each other as you normally would. You’ll be surprised how easy and fun it is!
I predominantly cover the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane but if your wedding or portrait shoot is going to be interstate or overseas then please get in touch as I love to travel and would love to hear about your plans.
Not if weddings or photoshoots are on the Sunshine Coast. If, further abroad I charge a minimal cost to cover fuel. If interstate or overseas simply add travel costs to the package you choose (ie + flight/accommodation).
Absolutely. I carry full public liability insurance and am aware that some venues will not allow a Professional Photographer on their premises without it.
Absolutely. All of my equipment, including my back up equipment is professional – from my Canon 5D Mark III and Canon 5D Mark II Cameras, Canon L Series Lenses, 600 EXRT & 580 EXII Flashes right down to my multiple battery packs and memory cards.
I will! If your package includes 2 photographers this will include myself and my husband Michael (we love to work as a team).
Unlimited ie: For Portrait sessions approximately 40-100 images. For weddings: approximately 200-800 photos depending on how many hours coverage you have booked us for.
Yes. You will receive all of your lovingly edited images in both Colour and Black and White and in high resolution (free of watermarks) for printing at your leisure on a beautiful Crystal USB.
I will. I do not send your photos out to anyone for generic batch processing but rather I develop and edit each of your images individually to ensure that they are given the love and attention they deserve.
With your permission I usually post a sneakpeek of a couple of images a day or two after your session or wedding and a small album on my blog of favourites after you’ve received all your images.
However, all of your lovingly edited high resolution images in both colour and black and white will be provided to you on USB approximately 4 weeks after Portrait Sessions and approximately 8 weeks after Weddings (approximate because some months I have a much heavier workflow than others ie wedding season). I know how excited you are to see your images though so I always aim to have your images back to you as early as possible 🙂
Yes I would love you to – all I ask is that when sharing on social media please tag Dream Bella Photography and kindly ask those you share with to do the same thanks so much 🙂
Absolutely. While you will have all of your high-resolution images on USB and are free to share them with whomever you like, quite honestly family and friends are often hesitant to ask couples and families for the images because they don’t want to hassle them. So I offer the option of a password-protected gallery where you can share your password link with whomever you like and they can choose to purchase from me professionally printed products for a fractional mark-up. I simply provide you with a link to your Password Protected Gallery that you can share directly with guests or give me permission to share with them. Then they simply go on line, browse your gallery and advise me of the image numbers, size and product they’d like to purchase.
If you would like an obligation free consultation or would like to check my availability please get in touch via my contact page [here] If the date is available, I will email you a Contract which sets out details of your chosen package and payment details.
To secure your date I will require a deposit (that will be taken off your total amount):
$200 Deposit for Portrait Sessions
$500 Deposit for Weddings.
While the deposit is non-refundable, it is transferrable to another date if that date is available.
Your deposit is due to secure your date. The balance is payable:
2 weeks before your Portrait Session
4 weeks before your Wedding Day.
If for any reason you pay the full amount and have to cancel, the most you will lose is the deposit – and that is only if I can’t accommodate your new date.
What is your approach at Weddings?
I like to photograph the getting ready, ceremony and reception photo-journalist style, blending in with your guests with minimal intrusion so that I can capture natural and candid moments as they unfold. Whilst other parts of your day ie family photo time and bridal party photos I will obviously need to direct a little. I love everything about Weddings but my favourite part of the day is definitely when I can take you as a couple aside and capture some beautiful, romantic and natural photos of you. I usually get you set up in a spot where the lighting is most flattering and just let you be yourselves in the moment. My aim is to get a variety of images for you to treasure and the most gorgeous natural shots possible as these are always the favourites!
Yes, and who and how many is totally up to you. I send you a Family Photo list to fill in and request that you return same to me by 2 weeks prior to your wedding. I also recommend that you delegate a bridesmaid and groomsmen (or other friend who knows your family members) to round up guests on each side ready for their photo. This really helps!
I will make sure we capture stunning images of your Wedding Day regardless of whether you choose to have an engagement shoot or not. However, I do LOVE engagement sessions as a way to get to know you and your chemistry as a couple. They are hugely popular amongst couples because you not only receive stunning and natural images of yourselves that you can use for your wedding but also because by the time the wedding day arrives you will feel more relaxed, totally comfortable in front of my lens and confident that you will look gorgeous in your images!!! Please note that some of my packages include a complimentary engagement shoot [link engagement portfolio]
I would love that. If you would like to book an informal, no-obligation free wedding consultation at a location on the Sunshine Coast please just get in touch via my contact page [here] If you have decided that you would like to book me then I will arrange a consultation to talk more about your wedding plans including scheduling, location preferences, any special requests you may have, either over the phone if you are long-distance or in person. If you choose to have an Engagement Shoot this will be another opportunity where we can chat about the logistics of your wedding.
Yes, once you have booked me for your wedding I will send you a Draft Wedding Day Schedule based on the most flattering light for your photographs for that particular date. This schedule is a word document that you can edit to suit your particular choices.
That is totally up to you. My main packages include a full day coverage from bridal preparations through to dancing.
Yes please if we are covering your reception! It is a very busy day for us from the moment we see you in the morning right through to the reception, carrying our heavy cameras and equipment around all day, constantly thinking on the go, and being ready at every moment. This all uses a surprising amount of high energy so as you can imagine we definitely need refueling. We carry our own snacks during the day but are on the go so much from the moment we see you that sometimes we barely have enough time to eat a muesili bar so a real meal after a full day of shooting is very much appreciated and will definitely keep our energies up for an awesome night of shooting.
We like to blend in with your wedding guests so I usually wear a simple dress (usually black) and my hubby usually wears black pants and shirt, minus a tie as it gets in the way of his camera.
It’s natural for couples to worry about this because weather is the one thing that cannot be controlled but good preparation can eliminate that worry, along with my extreme weather guarantee below. My advice is to ‘prepare for the worst & hope for the best!’ How:
